The joys of written word

I LOVE writing.  If you aren't visiting dictionary.com or thesaurus.com you need to reevaluate your life.

I feel as if I was born 10 years too late. The millennial generation has bastardized the English language with textspeak, and I think words are becoming a dying art form. I would like to present to you a handful of words that were added to the Oxford dictionary.

Bromance

Grrrl  (there's not a vowel, and there's not even a 'y' to play stand-in for the absent vowel)

Noob

LOL

OMG

Textspeak - Even the problem itself has been defined.

Now, for anyone born after 1995, it's not my intention to offend. The problem I have, however, is when someone is willing to spend half a second to type "OMG" as an exclamatory remark, but then they aren't willing to take the extra five seconds to complete their thought. There are countless ways to express your reactions without relying on the simplicity of three letters.

I have no idea why my video editing software added the beginning, but it's midnight and I'm too tired to deal with it.

I talk about my views on written vs. spoken word.
